May 10, 2015 7:35 AM in response to lllaassby Grant Bennet-Alder,The Apple USB-connected SuperDrive cheats. It draws more power from the USB Bus than is generally allowed. Certain Mac models (typically those released AFTER to USB SuperDrive that did NOT come with a DVD Reader) play along with this cheat, some others do not.
Any third-party drive you could attach cheats worse. The solution for third-party drive is an external power supply for the drive.
Did you know you can share the drive of another Mac or PC on your local network?
