Q: GPS tags on iPhone 6 photos

I cannot find the GPS tab in preview when trying to establish where a photo was taken. Any ideas please?

Then the photo has probably been exported or shared without the GPS.

If a photo has been shared or exported with GPS included, it should look like this in Preview:

The iPhone will not always add GPS tags, if it cannot determine the location; for example in flight mode.

If you export photos from iPhoto with "File > Export", make sure, "include location" is enabled.

Thanks, Leonie. The GPS info is on the photo as I can click on Get Info in Photos and it shows me the location on the map. Perhaps it loses the GPS info when I import it into my pictures directory on the Mac although I don't see why it should! However, thanks for your response!

How do the files get to your Folder? Directly from the Camera or via an app?

It's ok Terence - Leonie's answer solved the mystery - I had been dragging the photos out of the Photos app  into my pictures folder instead of exporting hence losing the GPS info! (Doh!) Thanks!
