HTML5 Video in Safari Doesn't Work Full Screen

I get one of two things with HTML5 video in Safari when I go to full screen:

1. The video plays, but the brightest white parts are all blown out and pixelated and it's full of similar artifacts.

2. It doesn't show anything in full screen, although the video is playing and I can hear the sound, I just get a 'blank' screen (it's actually a white fiber texture background of some kind), here's a screenshot:

Anyone else have issues with HTML5 in Safari?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

And (in Safari 8.0.6), I just got this message as well, which YouTube describes as:

"If you see this video in your YouTube app’s video feeds, your device is affected. (Note: If the video appears unexpectedly in a web browser, it means that website is using an outdated method to access YouTube videos.)"

Hey Daniel - I'm having the first problem you listed, with the blown out whites in Safari video. I go to Chrome and watch the same video, and I can't replicate the problem, so it's a Safari thing. Have you gotten any answers? Yours is the only post I've been able to find that addresses this issue...

I am having the same issue here. I have tried the same video in fullscreen on a retina macbook 15" with safari and that doesn't show the artifacts. If anyone has figured out a solution to this problem let me know!
