Q: NTFS format for Boot Camp doesn't work

I have this pesky issue. When I formating the Boot Camp partition with the Windows installation utility (on a disk) to NTFS will the installation utility mess up the partition. First obvious is that it changes the name of the Boot Camp partition to "untitled". And then Windows installation utility says Windows can't be installed since it's not the right format (not NTFS).

When I go reboot back to OS X is the partition named "untitled". When I check the Boot Camp partition with the disk utility does it says it is now in NTFS format and not MS-DOS (FAT) as it was before I reformated the partition with the Windows installation utility.

I have removed all Thunderbolt wires. I have tried with the Flash that has the Boot Camp drivers both connected and removed during the whole process. I got the same result each time regardless if the Flash is connected or not.

I have OS X 10.7.5. I don't want to upgrade to 10.10 (I have just downgraded from 10.10 to get rid of that ***** OS) or 10.9 (I'm not too keen over this OS either). I have ordered OS X 10.8, maybe that will help unless some one here can tell me what to do. It is a really strange issue since I have used BootCamp on all available versions of OS X.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5), iMac 2010
