Griffin Firewave alternative ideas needed please.....

I have been using a Griffin Firewave (currently connected to Logitec X-530 5.1 speakers. These worked great up until a few months ago, firstly I would get random noises coming through the speakers. Then I would get the beeping test noise coming from each of the speakers at all times of the day and finally (the last straw) I am getting distorted music until I pull the firewire out and back into the FireWave.

Looking back it's not worked properly since I upgrade my mac mini from an early 2009 to a late 2012.

Hence, I am assuming it's the 9 year old GFW that's possibly gone and I need a replacement.

Any ideas would be welcome please.
