New WDMyCloud & AirPort Extreme password
I can't see my WD MyCloud on my network even though it's plugged into the Airport Extreme usb port.
I've plugged a new WD MyCloud drive into my AirPort Extreme USB port. When I turn my PC (i.e. not a Mac) on I get a pop up window saying AirPort Disc "WDMyCloud" has become available What do you want to do? Ignore/enter ID & password.
As I didn't yet have a password set up on the MyCloud drive, I put in the AirPort Extreme's password (it had already put my name is as the ID so I just left that as is). It didn't unlock the drive.
I went into AirPort Utility to check I was using the right password to assess the AirPort device & I was.
I then tried 'Ignore' but wasn't able to get the drive visible on my list of drives.
I checked that the AirPort was on the latest software & it seems to be fine.
- I tried reading about AirPort passwords/discs but they say 'select edit' & I've not got anything called 'edit' when I open AirPort Utility so am stumped early on.
- I tried selecting the Extreme on AirPort utility & then went for 'Manual Set-up' where I got an option to look at Discs. A tab says "This pane shows your AirPort Discs but nothing is shown there.
Any ideas?
