LG 2560x1080 monitor with MDP > HDMI

This is not a question but an answer for anybody who can't seem to find it. I recently bought a 34" ultrawide display (2560x1080 resolution) from LG and I ran into the problem of resolution the second I plugged it in via DVI. I am currently using a Mac Pro (Mid-2010) with Radeon 5870 graphics (2x mini display and 1x DVI). Since LG fails to provide a driver for OS X for these specific displays, they are registered as a 1920x1080 television. Instead of typing out a lot of stuff for you to read, I just took a screenshot of everything i did to make it work perfect.

Thanks so much for this! It really helped me. I'm not sure my monitor all of a sudden didn't work but after using your settings things way more manageable. One question: after using your settings I'm getting a frequency resolution of 53 Hz; however I'm getting a warning that I should switch it to 60 Hz. What settings do I need to adjust to get the recommended 2560 x 1080 60Hz instead of 2560 x 1080 53 Hz? Thank you!

This settings is really working for me! (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7037954?answerId=28228954022#28228954022)
My screen is LG 25UM58 with MBA (13') mid 2013, in El Capitan with already having the latest update.

I've been trying to find solutions all over the web for this and almost gave up.
But luckily I found this one which really working for me, so thanks so much @whitecrowproductions

Let's how it goes in the long run, hopefully all just good.
Cheers!
