In iPhoto, Preferences allowed me to select Photoshop Elements (PSE) as my default program for editing.. This is not true in Photos. How do I get my photos to PSE for editing? Is there any way to make Photoshop Elements my default editing program? Thanks!

Adobe will have to create a plugin to do that as the entire set up has changed with OS X 10.10.3 -
Until they do you have to either use the media browser to load the photo into PSE or export it from Photos tot he desktop and open it - make the edit, save to the desktop and import into Photos

Until Adobe provides us with a plugin for Photos that will let us use PSE or PS from within Photos the workflow that Keith provided will have to suffice.
That is TERRIBLE. Good old Adobe. Apple should have taken care of that 1st, but I guess that Adobe is as cooperative as Intuit Quicken.
My solution: I shall continue to use iPhoto and Photoshop Elements. Photos will sit idle until an Adobe plug-in is added. What a bunch of horse-doo.
Does Adobe now have a plugin for Photoshop Elements 14 to work with Photos for editing?
If not, can Photoshop Elements do everything iPhoto used to do? Or vice versa? Can one just switch to one or the other?
I updated one computer to El Capitan, and now iPhoto 9/6/1 no longer works...
Not that I know of - best to ask Adobe to be sure
PSE can not do everything iPhoto does nor can iPhoto do everything PSE does - PSE is a much stronger editor - iPhoto is much, much stronger at managing Photos - two totally different programs with different capabilities
as to iPhoto on El Captain - you must have version 9.6.1 - see Can't Update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store
and you have Photos which you can use and does more than iPhoto did - but again is a different program with more but different capabilities
