Dec 16, 2015 12:16 AM in response to xchomikby K Shaffer,If you have suitable externally enclosed hard drive or SSD that can run the
computer (via Thunderbolt or USB3.0) with enclosure data speed also fast,
you could see if running an older OS X version is still possible. Sometimes
after a firmware update, a computer may balk at running an earlier OS X.
Other times, a system may prefers to be running from internal drive location.
You could test to see if the graphic issue changes to a more acceptable
former quality, or if this new change after software system Upgrade, may
have otherwise affected the graphic processing unit. These share RAM
with the main installed system, so there may also be a related problem if
the quality of that RAM upgrade may be suspect. Even a few sticks of a
good brand may go bad. However the OS X Upgrade and a firmware up-
grade may have been enough to push this graphic issue into a unique need
for another firmware update, if someone can determine that is necessary.
A download of original system from App Store, may be worth the trouble.
If the problem developed after fairly recent 10.10.x upgrade (+ firmware)
and the firmware may also be a large player in this guessing game.
Have you written to Apple Feedback to suggest there is a problem in this?
Given there are a few different sections where this feedback may not apply.
Hopefully there will be good news on that front...

Dec 16, 2015 2:16 AM in response to K Shafferby xchomik,No, I haven't. Just standard log after error. BUT.... (maby it's premature) erlier post about probable FF/YT input to the problem made me check FF updates... switching from V45 to V46 - so far so good. Maby it actually IS a FF/YT problem, but noone connected those two things together so far? Or maby not. I'm going to give it a try and see what happen.

Jan 22, 2016 11:22 AM in response to aaronrryanby pegasus_34,Hi everyone... have had the same problems. But I find it hard to believe apple hasn't figured out the problem for so long. So... it must be something we are missing...
I'm running my mac mini with an SSD (crucial mx100 512Gb) and 8 Gb (Kingston). Is anyone running the same ssd? I just installed (1 hour ago) a new firmware for the ssd, and will give you guys feedback.

Jan 22, 2016 11:49 AM in response to pegasus_34by K Shaffer,Perhaps to send a situational analysis (or complaint done with finesse) to Apple Feedback
on the matter of this new system posing somewhat ill effects on this model Mac, is needed?
I've not upgraded, as other real-life items are more important; perhaps they'll fix the issue
before these models are deemed 'obsolete' or some lesser update makes them so. This
is not speculative. It is pragmatic.
Did you have a previous full system backup (clone) to test to see if the firmware update
fails to allow use of an older (and otherwise) functional system, those without ill artifacts?
Good luck in any event..!

Jan 22, 2016 12:29 PM in response to K Shafferby pegasus_34,Not happy to know you didn't upgrade... increases the odds for "failure" of my fix!
Cant say I understood you question... I have previous system backups, but I don't really know when the "graphic artifacts" began. I do now it was in Yosemite.

Jan 22, 2016 1:50 PM in response to pegasus_34by K Shaffer,In some instances, the newer upgrade OS X and associated firmware advances make
reverting (download install previous purchase OS X, etc) an unlikely prospect. One may
hope that if you had a Yosemite OS X 10.10.5 on a suitable boot drive, it may prove the
point one way or another. Install OS X on an external drive.
Since my 'recent purchase' of this Mac Mini (Late 2012 i7 quad-core 2.3GHz server)
is now little over a year old, direct from Apple, the option to try Yosemite has passed.
Some other options to get free software update to the included versions (former iLife
& iWorks equivalent) appears to have vanished from App Store as of last week. Not
much of an answer in these observations, though.
Since I have other older computers which do OK but had no forward upgrades...
I'm rather sorry to not have found a restored model happily running Snow Leopard.

Jan 24, 2016 10:27 PM in response to aaronrryanby jcnash,Has anyone resolved this error? My issue is far worse than most of your descriptions. My system hangs & restarts every time I get the error, which also covers the whole screen.
If I attempt to clear the screen, which must be done quickly, by removing the HDMI cable, I get a bit of "snow" like you used to see on a TV, except colored.
...And then it hangs and restarts. It also hangs and restarts if I do nothing, usually within a few seconds of the original error appearing. I've filed a bug report with Apple as well.
Mac Mini (Late 2012), 2.5 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB original spinning HD. Mac OS 10.11.3, though I've only recently upgraded. I've had the problem on multiple OS X versions. I don't know the exact time (in relation to OS version) that it started.

Feb 4, 2016 3:23 AM in response to jcnashby -ixen-,Did you send photos and videos of the issue to Apple bug reporter? We should force Apple to resolve this huge bug.
I have the same problem since 10.10.3 in my MacBook Pro mid2012 with the Intel HD graphics 4000. I sent the MBP to Service 4 times but they are unable to detect the problem so they can't provide any fix. They replaced my logic board but the graphics problem remains in 10.11.3.

Feb 13, 2016 3:37 AM in response to aaronrryanby pegasus_34,Now its becoming really unstable. Restarts randomly. I will try a clean restore to see if it helps. I cant believe every intel HD 4000 Mac does this. If so Apple would have moved much sooner to resolve the situation.
