Safari running extremely slow on brand new MacBook Pro

Recently, Safari has been running EXTREMELY slow on my brand new MacBook with Yosemite 10.10.2, especially when using the search bar. Sometimes I can't even get it to do a Google search. I have cleared the cache and website data and it is still slow. I was thinking that it could be a network problem because sometimes my Mac randomly receives all my emails and iMessages at the same time. However, I have a Google Chromebook that is super fast on the same network, as is my iPhone, so it probably isn't. This is extremely annoying and almost to the point where I can't use my Mac if I need to quickly search for something. What can I do??

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.
