The photo's taken on my son's ipod touch have disappeared from the device after syncing. Not sure if they can be retrieved. Please help

Look on the computer. Maybe they were imported via the computer image capture/camera program.

As you suggested I downloaded the free trial from the above website
Followed the prompts
The ipod is there but it won't allow me to highlight "photo's" on the device ( it shows 0 next to it???)
Not sure where to go from here, any more suggestions?
