I've tried twice to make a shared album. It has about 3000 pictures in it but it gets to 994 and then stops. I've tried deleting the shared album and reloading it but it stopped at the same number again. Any ideas?

You may have hit a sharing limit; you cannot upload only 1000 pictures per hour, see this link:

Don't try to upload all photos the same day.
