iTunes Play Count too high

Let me cut to the chase. When I play a song on my iPod (2nd gen, 4.2.1 iOS) and then sync it to the computer, iTunes shows that it has like 800 plays. Can someone help me fix this? It is irritating me.

If a PC try:

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

or

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Next

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
