I found a 8gb stick of ram (pictured below) on an old computer. I want to use it as an ram upgrade for my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5. Is it compatible? My Macbook Pro currently has a 2*4 ram configuration. Can I swap a 2 gb stick with this 8 gb stick and have an 2+8 config, or should I just go with 1 8gb stick?

Kappy has given you the correct RAM specifications for your MBP, which you have not revealed for the 8GB RAM module.
Based on the pictures that you have supplied, I sense that the pin configurations are not the same. If I am correct, trying to install that module may damage the RAM bay.
