The Chrome browser has deprecated NPAPI plugins, and they are now not allowed by default. When will a non-NPAPI version of Quicktime that can be used in Chrome be released?

Ok, well, I am glad that we were planning to move away from using Quicktime, then.
QuickTime formats are fine. It's the html code that uses plug-ins that is out of date.
Look at HTML 5 code.
The problem is that we are using a good deal of the older code - both the Java and Javascript APIs, as I need to get Timecode information out of the player, in addition to controlling the player using Javascript.
we have the same problem : we are using QuickTime feature to cut clips.
