If you'd like to find out what is taking up space on your hard disk drive, you can follow the directions outlined below to get an overview.
To view Storage information for your connected volumes, select About This Mac from the Apple menu, then click the More Info button in the window that appears. Next, click the Storage tab to display storage information

May 14, 2015 12:32 PM in response to alex_h1by dbarash,Thanks.... Actually, it turned out to be that there was another user name that had 250 Gb of pictures attached to it. I took a guess at it and was lucky.
