Q: Ipod can not be restored or updated, unknown error occured (9) . Endless loop situation

My son's iPod Touch Gen 5 can not be restored (to iOS 8.3)  through iTunes over USB.

I read and followed the following articles:

I tried 3 computers, (2 Win 1 Apple) 2 genuine Apple cables and disabled Firewall, Antivirus etc .. even moved  to a DMZ zone .. same endless loop .. Error (9).

Uninstalled all Apple SW (on the PC) and re-installed, played around with the AMD services .. same Error (9)

I also searched this Forum and found a few similar stories, but none of them with a positive ending.

The device is 1.5 Year old not jail broken, problems happened overnight after a night on the charger .. Apple logo vanished during startup  > DFU mode routed towards iTunes connection icons .. update, restore ever and ever again.

Tomorrow Apple support will cal me .. hopefully they know the trick to get the update
