I installed a Radeon 6870 in my MacPro 3.1 but I don't get the white load screen just goes to the desktop.

I had the radeon 256 gig card that came with my pro 3.1 and I wanted upgrade to a more powerful video card. The Radeon Card 6870 by Sapphire works great but I don't get the white load screen anymore just stays black and then the desktop appears. In the system information it list the card as Chipset Model: AMD Radeon HD 6xxx. I thing the OS X Yosemite sort of understands what video care is present. I was hoping there was something I could do to get the loading screen back.

Thanks

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

You do not have an Apple flashed ROM on the GPU. You will not see any startup screen unless you use a VGA connection or re-flash your GPU's ROM.
