If you are having an issue with your iMac continuously restarting immediately after the startup chime, I have a couple of suggestions to try to troubleshoot.
What you are experiencing with the repeated restart and chime sounds very much like what occurs when we reset the computer's parameter RAM as described in this article -

Now I assume that you are not holding down the key combination (cmd-opt-P-R) required to do this reset but it is possible there is a keyboard problem making the computer believe those keys are being depressed. To eliminate this possibility I would like you to disconnect everything from this iMac except the power cord and try to start up again. If you are using a wireless keyboard you will need to remove the batteries from it. See this article for help in removing batteries -

If this works, replace one device at a time and restart. When the symptoms come back, you'll know that the last thing you connected was causing the issue.
If the issue does not go away when everything is disconnected, I would suggest you try resetting the System Management Controller -

Use the instructions in the section labeled On Mac Pro, iMac, Mac mini, and Xserve.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Be well,
