Q: powermac g5 issue

when i connect my moniter to my g5 with a vga cord i power up my tower and my screen goes to sleep everytime i start it up what can be the problem

    No G5 can run Mountain Lion.

    No Mountain Lion Mac can run Classic, the operating system listed on this forum.

    VGA cables are usually not necessary for more modern displays on Macs running Mountain Lion.  For one thing they don't carry audio.  So first, you must identify your Mac:

    VGA cables should be used only for projectors and monitors that don't support widescreen resolutions.

     

    Most modern Macs support at least DVI, if not HDMI, mini-Displayport, or Thunderbolt based displays.  DVI doesn't carry audio, but more recent mini-Displayports do.
