Q: Safari Freezes when I try to quit.

Every time I hit ⌘ + Q in Safari it freezes it completely and goes unresponsive, so far I have done every thing possible to fix this issue. I made a video if you don't understand what I'm talking about. I contacted Apple and they told me to do a Time Machine back up than do a complete OS reinstall. I reinstalled OS X from the recovery menu and than I migrated to my Time Machine back but Safari still doesn't work when I hit quit. I also tried everything here I deleted all the Safari caches, preference files, application saved states. I also started getting this message while using Safari, the message says Im running out of RAM but my RAM monitor shows that I have perfectly enough.  I tried in Safe Mode too but I can't quit there either. Whenever I login with my moms account its totally fine and everything is normal. Here is the Error Message also when I force quit Safari. I'm gonna head out to the Apple Store on Thursday I was just wondering if anyone could help me out here until I head out.

What they will do is run a hardware test, erase the startup volume, and install OS X. With the machine in the factory state, the problem won't be reproducible, and they will tell you it's solved. Then you will take the machine home and restore your data from a backup. Almost certainly, the problem will also be restored, and you'll be back where you are now.

    Hello again Ilya,

Can you turn off Little Snitch, undo the changes to your /etc/hosts file, restart, and try it again?

After seeing your EtreCheck report and reviewing the Safari hang report that you so conveniently posted originally, I think that these network hacks may be interfering with Safari. Apple treats Safari as an entire ecosystem. When you turn on iCloud, all of your Safari history is shared across all of your devices. As a side effect, be careful when clearing Safari data now, because it clears all Safari data - on every device you own.

So, I am thinking that maybe you have iCloud Safari turned on, but your mom does not. Therefore, when you quit Safari, either Little Snitch or your hosts file prevents Safari from exiting and it hangs. Even if my theory is wrong, it is easy to test and restore your original configuration if it proves ineffective.

I have no use for "etrecheck." If you would like my help, please post the information I asked for, not what somebody else asked for.

    Hello Linc,

All you need to do is go to your profile page: Linc Davis

Then click the "Edit preferences" link under your avatars

In Your Preferences, change Discussion View Style to Threaded

With this setting, you will be able to clearly see when someone responds to one of your posts as opposed to someone else's post. Your view will then look like this:

    Screen Shot 2015-05-14 at 9.58.28 AM.png

This is much easier that looking for the "in response to etresoft" that Apple prints in grey text on a grey background as it likes to do these days.

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

    CleanMyMac - Uninstall

    CleanMyMac2 Un-install

    CleanMyMac 3 Uninstall

After un-installing, use this program to make sure you got all the pieces.

Regarding the Etrecheck report here's one item that is sure to be contributing to your problems.  You've installed this malware which is known to trash systems.

[failed] com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist [Click for support] [Click for details]

Uninstall according to the developer's instructions. You can do a Google search for that.

Then check to see if you've removed all of the files by downloading and running Find Any File to search for any files with the application's name and the developer's name in the file name.  For example for CleanMyMac  do two searches:

    1 - Name contains cleanmymac

    2 - Name contains macpaw

Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop for deletion.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.

    [loaded] com.bittorrent.uTorrent.plist [Click for support]

Downloading anything with this is asking for problems as there's no way to assure that what's included in the download isn't malware or adware. To use it you're putting your Mac at risk.

"CleanMyMac" is not installed. The file it left behind when you uninstalled it has no effect.
