Q: Apply watch only provide 5 digits instead of 6 for manual pair

My apple watch disconnected yesterday and won't pair.  I reset and it won't auto pair, so I attempted to manual pair the device but I am only being supplied a 5 digit code and I am being asked for a 6 digit.  What can I do???

Apple Watch, iOS 8.3

    Can you provide more detail?

Are you using a corporate mail server that demands a complex passcode or something?

No just a regular server at home, the watch has paired to my phone twice before but just disconnected on Monday afternoon and hasn't worked since.\

Hey aoifefromfort mcmurray, Go ahead and Reset both devices ( Your Apple Watch and your iPhone) then try the Pair again. That should resolve that issue!

AWESOME SOLUTION. thanks this really worked!  resetting the iphone made me nervous, thinking I'd lose all my data, but it actually just reset which made the iwatch and iphone finally pair!  thanks for the great advice!

In order to see the 6-digit code, you need to tap on the device name for your watch that is shown on your iPhone. The device name happens to include a 5-digit code, but this is not the code that you need:

After tapping on the device name for your watch on your iPhone, you will next be shown the 6-digit code on your watch - this can then be entered on your iPhone:

Those views are most likely from back when it was new. I see no evidence that the OP did or did not follow those steps.

Hi, im having a similar issue and have been able to get all the screens you're showing to show up except for that last one. I get the 5-digit code from my watch, select it on my phone, then that's it; nothing changes on my watch and I never get the 6-digit code (even though the iPhone asks for it). The animation-style pairing feature doesn't work for me either (iPhone says "unable to pair with your watch"). My watch was paired and connected just fine for about 6 months, then suddenly kept saying it was disconnected. after restarting both devices and still getting the disconnected message, I reset my watch and unpaired from my phone. trying to re-pair now and it's not working. Any ideas?

    Hi

If you have not yet done so, first update your iPhone to the latest software and then try pairing again via the standard process (being sure to align the sides of your watch with the guides shown in the camera viewfinder):
