Q: Final Cut X 10.2 back-up
Hello everyone!
before I upgraded to version 10.2 when I was done editing a project for a client I would back up the Final Cut Project and events folders onto a designated external hard drive so if any changes in the future might come up I can go to their hard drive drag the files back onto my computer and make the changes and export perfectly. Well I just finished my first project for a client with the recently update Final Cut and packed up the files and noticed that there is no longer Final Cut Projects and Final Cut Events folders, everything is consolidated into the library. So what I did was I dragged the file that was on my external and placed it in the Final Cut Libraries, opened up final cut and nothing was there. I then made a new event, went back to the final cut library in my finder dragged the contents from my clients folder to the new event folder I made in FCPX, opened up the program all the original media was there except....the completed project along with the time line. Is there a work around to this so I can get the edited piece I made on the timeline or is it gone forever? I really dont want to edit the piece again just to change the video to have their new logo swapped. I realize with my ignorance I should've looked into it before I did anything but I had the automated updates and I was out of disk space by the end of the clients work and needed to back up.
Anyone have any suggestions?
