How should you clean the "bare" LCD display (not the glass panel)

While repairing an LCD screen, you may inadvertently smudge it with fingerprints. I wonder if it's be safe to use a clean lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water on these delicate part.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), stripped screw

I use a micro fiber cloth with warm water.
