I can find text within a webpage or PDF by directly typing a keyword into Safari's URL bar. But its find text feature defaults to whole-word. Can I set it to find text regardless of whether the text is a whole-word? Thanks.

Jim, I'm using Safari on my iPad. In its address bar, I type in a keyword to find in the text of a webpage. It finds the keyword but only as a whole-word. How do you find partial words? Thanks.
Not sure what you are doing. I can find text on a web page with either a partial word, whole word, or multiple word search.
If you type in partial text it will find that string in the web page. The text does not have to be a complete word.
Jim, I tried to find keywords in the webpage at http://nodepression.com/article/dwight-yoakam-meandering-through-americana-camp on my iPad. The keyword "cowpunk" found 5 matches but its partial keyword "punk" found only 3 matches (none of which are partial). On the webpage at http://www.oconnormethod.com/Store.html, the keyword "doublebass" found a match but the partial keyword "bass" found no partial matches. I don't understand why. Thanks.
In Safari for OSX you can choose 'begins with' or 'contains' for the find in page function.
It appears on IOS8 it is fixed to 'begins with'.
I find it very annoying and it is only since IOS8 that I noticed it.
