Q: Error read data not received whenever I try to open a web page using chrome on my mac

HHello,

whenever i try to use the Internet through chrome in my Mac it says no data recieved and fails to load. This happens with every website. By the way this also happen with safari so it isn't a problem with chrome. This is getting very frustrating... Can anyone help?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1), 3 and a half years old

the problem is that i can't download it because non of my search browsers are working

another strange thing is that the computers internet doesnt even seem to work for application that require internet (even though my email is working)

Somerthing is redirecting or blocking some ports.

Open System Preferences>Network>Configure>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS.

dont see "configure" anywhere. found a proxies tab though, in network i click "advanced" and then a proxies tap. what do i do from there?

On the page preceding the advanced, did you unlock the lock with an admin Password?
