Q: macbook pro software problems heeeelllllllppppp

hi,

right I've got a very long winded question and a few problems with my mac book.

it started by going very very slow so much that i couldn't do any thing with it,so i spoke to apple that informed i didn't have enough free space on it and i needed

to delate some stuff on it (which i did),still no better.May i add that i had just upgraded to a software update about a week before.so apple gave me a few pointers and left me to it.These  were boot in utilities and do a restore from time machine or disk (which i didn't have)so i did it from my time machine and left it over nite,it took about 28 hours, bang now i won't do any thing.

so next i ordedred snow leopard original software disk and a bigger hard drive 750gb as against original 320.

ive tryed pressing alt key on boot up and nothing I've tried booting with cd in and it comes up next to a picture of a hard drive but i just get white screen apple log then no spinning circle.after that i get the white no entry sign.ive tried most things that i can find on these forums and generally on the net and nothing,so next i replaced the hard rive and tried going from scratch.now all i get is the flashing folder and can do nothing at all with it. i ned to get to the disk utilities somehow

but its not there(or i can't get to it)pls pls some one help,I've tried the smc reset swell.also tried safe boot and can't get to that either, also tried booting in verbose

You can reboot holding the option key and see if there is a bootable OS from this Start-up Manager.

If no boot option you need to reinstall or restore the OS

You can boot off the installer disk, from there you can run your Disk Utility- New drives need to be formatted.

right found the problem i bought a cd copy (original apple) of snow leopard and it was faulty ?

so mac book pro was dropped into my local computer shop and i already fitted the upgraded 750 gb  hdd , so all good and all done.
