Cannot view Netflix movies on Apple TV - the default goes to Airplay only - please help

when I press the button main menu. the remote does not respond as well

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.


It sounds like your Apple TV is only showing you an AirPlay screen, and the Menu button on the Apple Remote isn't responding.


If your Apple TV is unresponsive, you may need to reset the device using the remote or by unplugging the power cord:


How to restart your Apple TV - Apple Support

  • Hold down Menu and Down on the Apple Remote for six seconds, and then release when you see the indicator light on the Apple TV blink rapidly.
  • Unplug the Apple TV power cord for three seconds, and then plug it back in.


If the remote still doesn't respond, see this article for more troubleshooting help:

If the AirPlay screen continues to appear, go to Settings > AirPlay and see if Conference Room Display has been set to On. You can find more information about this setting here:
