I have for awhile had a HDMI output from the firewire output to my LG tele which worked great.
but recently i have lost the sound thorugh the HDMI, i have tried all 4 HDMI ports on the TV, reset the TV, same issue, good picture no sound.
this is running on Windows 7 on the IMAC (Intel)

Have you checked the list out audio outputs to see if it has been disabled by accident?
1. Go to Start and click on control Panel.
2. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.
3. In the new windows click on the tab “Playback" and right click in the window and click on Show Disabled devices.
4. Now check if Speaker is listed there and right click on it and choose enable.
Failing that you could check the correct audio drivers are installed and active maybe trying reinstalling them.

thanks for this, i have tried it and where as before the LG was a sound source to choose it is no longer there.
