realplayer media files

realplayer media files

Is it easy to convert realplayer files so that they can play on iTunes? If so, how?

I found some earlier postings (iTunes discussion forum March 06) on this topic and it looked as though the conversion was a bit hit and miss.

Any tips gratefully received.

As far as i know, there is no application for a Mac to convert realplayer audio files. The only thing I can suggest is something like WireTap Pro.

I did try - really try - to following the instructions in the links below to download the necessary for playing realplayer media files, but way too complicated.

Is there a 'Noddy's' version somewhere? I have some really good music but only on realplayer.

It's called Switch and I've used it to convert WinMedia to mp3 so I can play them in iTunes. I believe you can also convert Real Player to mp3. I have not done thorough testing on quality...but from the conversions I've done I can't tell a difference...

From Switch's FAQ:

Looks like Switch will only convert RealPlayer files on Windows.
