charging the iPhone 6 with higher wattage chargers?

I am reading contradicting articles and blogs about charging the iphone with a higher wattage charger than the stock 5 W one. some say it is safe to charge it faster and that the iphone supports it, others say the heat will ruin the battery.

its a pain carring chargers for each of my portable devices. in india we have a standard 3 pin line at 230v, 6A. i wanna buy a single (apple certified) adapter that can deliver power to three USB ports. there are some that have 1.5A and some that have 2.4A. i wanna know which ones are safe for my devices (iphone 6, ipad mini, ipod nano)

great! u know of certified 2.4amp chargers that are as slim as the stock chargers for ipad mini and iphone 6? i dont mind if they have just 1 usb port each as i carry my ipad mini in a separate slim pouch. thanks.

also let me know if there is a single one that has 2 - 2.4 outputs.
