Apple Watch Case Scratching Easily

I purchased the Apple Watch over the Watch Sport because all the marketing claimed it was more durable than the sport with Sapphire crystal display and stainless steel "Through a specialized cold-forging process, it becomes up to 80 percent harder"

I've been wearing it since Saturday (5 days) while mostly at my desk working or out for dinner. It already has a deep scratch in the stainless steel. I had a $70 stainless steel watch which I had worn for nearly 7 years and it doesn't have this deep of a scratch in it and I worn it out biking, swimming, working in the yard, etc.

I use my iPhone 6 Plus without a case and have had it since it was released. No scratches to date. ***?

Is anyone else finding this to be an issue? Is the Sport edition scratching just as easily???

Thank you.

Mine had some minor scratches in it after a weeks use. This is quite common on watches and hard to prevent... I sometimes forget i have it on my wrist and knock it into something. My stainless Tissot with sapphire crystal has scratches in it too. believe it uses the same grade 316 stainless. I buffed out the scratches on my Apple Watch and Tissot with a metal grade polish (easily obtainable from a hardware, car parts, or marine store). Be careful to use a minimal amount of the polish on a microfiber cloth and rub as hard and long as needed. Do not get any polish in the speaker or microphone ports or in the gaps around the crown and button! Hope this helps.

Yes, the stainless steel model scratches like ****, unlike most other stainless steel watches. the Aluminum ones are a bit harder to scratch though. We have 6 Stainless Steel ones in the family but only one aluminum one and while all the stainless steel ones have all scratched, the aluminum one seems fine.
