Q: Why do I receive stand alert when standing?

A few times I've received a notification to stand when I was already standing. For instance, one time I was standing at the sink doing dishes (so not walking around or moving much, just standing).  If the goal is just to stand, I shouldn't have to move around much to meet it as long as I'm standing. Anyone else have this issue? Solution?

    Hi Jeracah Holland,

I apologize for any confusion regarding the Stand function. As noted in the following article:

    • The Stand ring. This represents the number of hours in which you've stood for at least 1 minute. You'll complete the Stand ring if you stand up and move a bit for at least 1 minute during 12 different hours in a day.

Use Activity on Apple Watch - Apple Support

In this context, "move a bit" means less than the "brisk activity" of the Excercise ring, but more than simply standing stationary (name notwithstanding), such as walking.

    Regards,
