Q: iCloud Photo Library keeps turning itself off on my Mac

I have OS X 10.10.3 on a MacBook Pro 17-inch 2011 and on an iMac. On the MacBook Pro, my library is somewhat large.

% du -gs ~/Pictures/Photos\ Library.photoslibrary

returns 117 GB.

I ticked on the "iCloud Photo Library" box in Photos > Preferences. I also selected "Optimize Mac Storage". It alternates between saying "Adding 9,552 items" and "Preparing 3,328 items" for a while. Eventually (many hours later) when I check back, the iCloud Photo Library is turned off. I I turn it on, the process repeats. I have been unable to get it to stay on. This has been going on since 10.10.3 was released.

Any ideas?

Another message displayed is "Uploading 14,097 items".

I have this problem too it turns itself off after a few hours when re uploading my wifes photo library after a time machine restore and photos 'repair'

have you found a solution yet? her library is 110gb and recently it updated to only uploading/checking 100gb so it got somewhere somehow
