Q: can't get a title when burn a disk from Compressor

I am probably going about it all wrong but after exporting a project as a master (that is properly named) from FCP X and then importing it into Compressor to finally burn as a DVD I end up with a DVD that has no title.  The content is fine, just when I put in the DVD player it would be nice if it had a title to say what it is.  I used to use FCP Studio several years ago and had no problems.  However, this project is not all that complicated.  Is there a work around in Compressor or do I have to do this in a different third-party software?

Thanking you,

Not sure what you mean the the DVD has no title.

Are you saying that the dvd in the Finder has a title of Untitled?

Yes that's right.  Title in finder is 'untitled'.  Sounds like there is an easy solution to this which Im missing.

Your workflow is overly complicated. You don't need to use Compressor, In Final Cut, Share>DVD

To fix compressor crashes, download Digital Rebellion's Compressor Repair and run it. Make sure the Delete Preferences box is checked.

I'm still not sure what you mean by DVD title.  The title that appears on the basic menu will be the project title, which you can change in final Cut.

Ok, now you have me a little confused.  My project when exported as a master (.mov) is 16gb or so.  Small compared to others I know.  So you are saying (or I think you are) that I dont need to go through Compressor at all to bring down the size to burn the disk.  I just need to Share>DVD FCP X and it will take care of all my problems?  BTW, I did try the Digital Rebellion's Repair for compressor but still couldnt burn the dvd.  While it didnt crash I could only manage to get an .ac3 and .m2v file.  Did a bit of studying and think I have worked out my problem there.  However, if I can just go through FCP X that would sure help.

Yes. You should shatre directly from Final Cut. The process doesn't care about the size of the movie file - only its duration.
