AOL software and wireless router

Hi everyone,

I've just set up a Netgear DG834GUK, managed to get everything up and running OK in terms of connecting to the internet through Firefox. However, certain members of the household still wish to use the AOL software on an eMac (connected by ethernet cable to the router) so they can access their 'favourites' etc. I've created a new location for the router, but cannot find the correct modem profile in order for the software to be able to pick up on the internet connection. Any advice would be very much appreciated,

Thanks very much,

Claire

Hi Claire, welcome to the discussions.

Somewhere in the Sign-On options of that fine piece of software known as AOL....there is an option to create a new location to sign-in using TCP/IP.

When you say you've created a new 'location for the router'...is that in the AOL software, or where?

Look for the TCP/IP option, not a modem option. (Is there a Help button on the AOL software?)
