I Was unclear apologies what I should have said is they both ring at the same time. Call comes in one one then the other states ringing within afew seconds from the same caller.
It sounds like you may have call forwarding enabled on one or both of the phones. On a GSM network, you can enable/disable this on the phone itself. On a CDMA network your carrier provides the service (reference here).
