Add docs and photos to already burned CD-RW

I'm told by Windows users that they can burn something to a CD-RW and come back later and add something new to the disk. The only way I know to do this on my Mac is to copy the disk to the HD, then erase the disk, then set up new folder with the old data, add new data, and reburn the whole thing. Is there another way?
