Trying to achieve this effect in Motion

(I think I asked this years ago and didn't get a really good answer. Maybe it will be different this time)

Attached below are a few screen shots of an effect from After Effects. The first is a particle flow...

then adding a vector blur to the particle flow.....

and lastly adding a fast blur...

I'm trying to achieve the same thing in Motion. What is tripping me up is, of course, the vector blur because Motion doesn't have anything labelled vector blur.

Does anyone know of a filter or combination of filters that could be used to get the same effect?

Mac Pro Dual Core, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I may be wrong, but I believe Directional Blur is what you are looking for.

for me it looks lke, Robert asks for a little more finesse:

Sounds to me, like 'Can Particles been used as a particle generator"
