Q: Extended network Airport Extreme + Linksys 2500

Hi Community!

 

this is my first post here! my english is bad, im sorry for that .

 

I get yesterday a airport extreme base for my home. The sign does not cover 100 % of my house.

 

its possible to extended the lan/wifi with a linksys router?

 

Just that!

    Only if the connection between the AirPort Extreme and Linksys router will be a wired one. It will NOT work if the connection between them is wireless. Sorry.

    Yes you should be able to do so. This would be called a roaming type of network. Please check out the following Apple Support article for details.

     

    The keys for a successful roaming network are as follows:

    • All wireless routers must be interconnected by Ethernet (wire).
    • Each router should have a unique base station name.
    • Each router must use the same wireless network name.
    • Each router must use the same wireless encryption type (WEP, WPA, or WPA2) and password.
