Hello everyone - is there some kind of setting I can nudge, to stop second letter cap?
If I start a sentence or use a proper noun, I get this:
STart of PRoper NOun - I type pretty quickly, without looking at the screen, then have to go back and correct.
Any help?

I'm assuming that the problem is you've developed bad a typing habit and are not lifting your finger from the shift key quite fast enough. If so, try enabling this feature
System Preferences > Keyboard > Text > Correct spelling automatically
, which will autocorrect as you type. The correction is proposed in a little callout (bubble) that appears and typing the space bar accepts this. If you want to reject the proposed correction type the 'esc' key.

Thanks Boomer - but I'm talking about the Shift key, not Caps Lock. My Kb is brand new - this is about inadvertent second letter capitalisation, not a stuck Caps Lock key. Maybe I should just type more carefully, but I have seen other questions around the web on this.

Your caps key is either broken or dirty. If you are using a Mac keyboard, try the suggestions mentioned KB Article Cleaning your Apple products
If you need to pop off the caps key, check out YouTube's tutorial videos as well as iFixit.
My Kb is brand new
You are still under warranty. Call Apple tech support and/or get another. If the keyboard is 3rd party, call the manufacturer.
