which cable?: extended desktop w/ iMac 2011 & MBPR 2014

Hello,

I want to use my 15" MacBook Pro Retina 2014 as an additional monitor/extended desktop to my 21.5" iMac 2011 (iMac is intended as the primary device). Can anyone tell me which cable I need (as well as adapter, if necessary)? Thank you!

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

You can use your iMac as a monitor for your MBP, but not vice-versa. A Thunderbolt cable is required.
