epson wf-2540 will not print over wifi - Yosemite

Hi,

I am running MBP with Yosemite 10.10.3 on 2 different MBPs.

I have had an Epson Workforce WF-2540 that has worked over wifi for 2 years.

Recently the wifi no longer works, but connecting directly to the printer via USB does print.

I suspect a recent update from Apple has caused this issue.

I have since installed all updates from Epson using the Epson Software Updater, and verified no updates exist from Apple.

I have deleted all printers from System Preferences -> Printers and Scanners and added them back.

The MBP sees the printer over wifi and I can add it.

When I print a page the printer status goes from idle to in-use, and back to idle, but nothing ever prints.

The print job goes to never-never land.

Does anyone have any suggestions or perhaps a solution you have seen recently?

I have an update. After reading another post, I just reset the printing system and re-added the wifi printer. Still I cannot print over wifi.

It sees the printer and I can add it and assign the driver, but when I try to print the printer status goes to in-use, and back to idle, but the job never prints.

Update - My computer is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011)

Hi Eric,

Thank you for the post, but it did not solve my issue.

I went through the entire process and checked every step in the web page.

I accidentally clicked the "This solved my question" button and it will not let me uncheck it. :-(

Still, I can see the printer and add it to my computer. I can send a document to it and it shows the printer goes from idle to in-use back to idle, but the document never prints.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Update - I corrected this issue by resetting my home network, where I am using a Time Capsule.

I noticed in the Airport Utility that I could not see the Time Capsule.

We had also noticed that our iTunes would not play over airplay to the apple TV any longer.

So with the hint from Eric, we realize we had a network issue.

I gained access to the Time Capsule through Airport Utility using the IP address, and reset it to factory defaults.

I then reconfigured the home network and connected all wireless devices.

Printer works! Time capsule is now seen in Airport Utility, and iTunes plays over airplay!
