So my iPod touch 4th gen doesn't actually work unless connected to my alarm clock, making it difficult to transfer its content to my computer. Is there any way that I can transfer music from it to my computer or the cloud without having to connect it, as a lot of the songs aren't recognised in my iTunes library or purchases history but play perfectly fine on my iPod itself.

Not, the only way to copy music from the iPod/s Music app to a computer is via USB. For non-iTunes purchases you also will need a third-party computer app like the free iFunBox

This is helpful. Except I have only ever used the one apple ID and computer to purchase these songs. They do not show up as ever being purchased except for one or two songs from the entire albums which should be downloaded.
