Q: Word 2011 can't find my photos

Since I (made the mistake of) upgraded to Yosemite all of my smart albums in iPhoto have been deleted, the iPhoto app has been disabled in my machine and NO I CANT UNDELETE IT FROM MY trash... its gone and mac store says that app is no longer available to my country? ***?

1. How can i get word 2011 to find my collection of photos? Currently the only photos it can find are photo booth photos.

2. Is this a bug or is there a work around?

3. if there is a way I just need to be able to get my smart albums back or create a script that will create a smart album for each keyword that I have my photos tagged to sort them. Once my collection passed 8000 photos I had to keyword tag them to find them in the future.

Word still works but again the ONLY pictures it finds are labeled photo booth... and those were all taken 2 years ago.

Where did you look for iPhoto?  Don't look in the Trash, look in your Applications folder, where the apps are installed.

The MacOS X 10.10.3 update did not remove iPhoto. It just added Photos. But  iPhoto should still be installed on your Mac and ready to use, if you did not uninstall them yourself.

Just drag iPhoto from the Applications folder back to your Dock to make it accessible.

You may need to update  iPhoto however, if you did not already update to iPhoto 9.6.1.

If you did not yet update to Yosemite compatible versions, see these user tips:

Get iPhoto 9.6.1 if you didn't update before OS... | Apple Support Communities

If you want to stay with Photos, all iPhoto albums should have been migrated to Photos and yu should see them in the Sidebar in the Album section. Press the key combination ⌥⌘S (alt/option-command-S)  to reveal the Sidebar.  Your albums should be in the Album section of the sidebar.

Smart albums cannot be migrated to Photos, if they are referring to constraint, that are not supported in Photos, for example the event names, since there are no events in Photos.
