How to edit M4V metadata?

Hi all,

I created an M4V (video) export using Final Cut Pro X. The move is concert footage of a friend's performance.

Here is my problem: when I open the M4V file in VLC, a title pops up that combines the file name with MY name. FCPX seems to be tagging the video export with the name of either the computer's owner or the software owner's (boo.. and why??).

How do I get rid of this metadata? It doesn't show up in the finder. I've tried to edit the data using VLC but this has not worked so far (I was able to see my name in the metadata under "Album Artist"; I erased it and pressed "save metadata" but nothing changed...). Then I purchased metadata software iflicks 2 but I haven't been able to get this to clear my name either.

Any suggestions??

Thanks.

Adam

Thanks very much Tom. I'm experimenting with that text field in FCPX. It seems that I cannot leave that text field blank; if I do the export will default to include my name (even if the field appears empty). But at least I can put the performer's name in the field now and re-export.

For future reference: Is there no way to edit such metadata after export? All I have found on google are some instructions using terminal along with some software on the app store that didn't work for me. Perhaps I should learn this terminal stuff...
