Oct 17, 2015 9:43 AM in response to black bansheeby pwareham1,I'm having exactly the same issue. I have had the watch replaced and it made no difference.
Anything greater than a brisk walk reports a inaccurate readings on the low side, usually 1/2 or 1/3 of the actual. I have tried tightening and loosing and moving it to different spots on my arm with no luck.
OS2 seemed to make it even worse.
I'm very disappointed as well. This is one key feature (the supposed killer app) that simply doesn't work. Steve Jobs would have been furious I'm sure.
The last ditch attempt from AppleCare is to replace my strap with a sport version. i'll try it but I can't imagine its going to help!

Oct 17, 2015 2:41 PM in response to pwareham1by ikikuru, yep same here, my issue seems to have really begun with os2. I use the workout app a lot for out door cycle rides. I'd say it records rhe rate for no more than 30 or 40% of the ride. Watch back is clean, no tattoo, fair skin and very little hair on arm. Seems to take an age to pick up rate, then looses it quickly and yep constantly greyed out. If you pause a workout, it takes forever to pick it up again, shows the last rate for a while, then greys out. Also rate jumps around a lot it seems. These issues for me are very much since os2. I have set the watch up as new, this has made no difference.
I've had the watch since release, I'm now seriously thinking about selling it, health was a major reason for buying this. Now it's just an annoying distraction.
