Q: Out of storage! How can I manage which photos are on my device?

i have a large photos library. Like iTunes match, i want to be able to control which photos from my photo library appear on device. Even with "optimize iphone storage" turned on, library is filling my entire iPhone storage. is there a way to choose? For example, with previous computer iPhoto sync, I could choose to sync only 6 months or specific events. Or with outlines, I can delete songs from my device and thy won't be deleted from iCloud, but only get the little "cloud" icon. Any way to filter, choose, or simply reduce the storage permitted to photos on my pgone?,
