Q: Switching to Photos - yet?

May 16, 2015 12:05 PMby léonie,Do you need a professional application, with elaborate tools for an efficient workflow? Then Photos will not suffice. Photos is for people, who cannot be bothered to organize their photo library and would be happy with some automatic structure.
Photos will migrate your Aperture Library and keep your albums, folders, GPS tags, most of your metadata.
Photos does not have projects, so your projects will be mimicked as albums. Not all smart albums will work, since Photos does not support all exif tags.

I do need metadata; organization is vital (for me)!
Likewise the ability to work with EXIF, GPS and nuanced and flexible keyboarding etc.
I really do not want an imposed structure - of any kind.
Nor a I much interested in the mania for sharing and clouds.
I need a sophisticated virtual photo filing system.
I shall not switch!
