Q: How to Enable Additional Compressor Instances

Sometime along the line of Compressor or OS X updates, I've lost the ability to enable additional compressor instances.  As a result, Compressor 4.2 is using approximately 60% of the available CPU.  With multiple occurrences, it was pinning the meter at 99 or even 100%.  I am running everything on its one terabyte solid state drive, so disk latency should not be a problem.  Memory is running less then half full.

Would someone who has multiple compressor occurrences working on one machine, please tell me the Compressor 4.2 Preference Settings that work?

Thank you.

Compressor and how it handles instances was updated slightly.  There's more GPU use now.  I'm going to bet your transcoding times are about the same, if not slightly faster now, even with less CPU usage.

To follow up Ben's comments: you should find the testing and the results published in this article to be very interesting. In particular, note the the very large (and unexpected) time differences between running single and multiple instances on the iMac and MBP and in one of the two MP tests, (There is also the AME vs Compressor comparison, which while interesting and the primary purpose of  conducting the tests, is not my reason for posting it here.)
